Refund & Cancellation Policy

1. Summary

• The free trial does not require a payment method, so there is nothing to cancel or refund during the trial.
• Paid subscriptions can be cancelled at any time. Cancellation stops the next renewal; you keep access until the end of the period you have paid for.
• EU consumers have a 14-day right of withdrawal from a paid subscription, with the standard exception for digital content already supplied with prior consent.
• We process refunds in clearly justified cases (technical failure on our side, accidental duplicate charge, EU withdrawal where applicable). Outside those cases we do not refund partial-month time.

2. Free trial

The trial is limited to 5 generated reports and 30 days from trial start, whichever comes first. No payment method is collected during the trial, so the trial does not auto-convert to a paid subscription. When the trial ends, generation pauses until you actively choose a paid plan and complete checkout.

3. How to cancel a paid subscription

Subscriptions are billed by Lemon Squeezy (Merchant of Record) on your behalf. You can cancel through any of the channels below; all of them stop the next renewal.

1. Customer portal hosted by Lemon Squeezy — every receipt email from Lemon Squeezy contains a “Manage subscription” link that opens your customer portal. From there you can cancel at any time without contacting us.
2. From inside the Power-Up — once we ship the in-product “Cancel subscription” control (planned for the General Availability release), you can cancel directly from the Account / Plan tab in two clicks. Until that ships, please use the customer portal or email us.
3. By email — write to report@midnightvision.app from the email address on your Lemon Squeezy receipt and we will cancel within two (2) business days, Monday to Friday, Central European Time.

You don’t need to give a reason. Cancellation requests are honoured promptly regardless of the channel used.

4. What happens after you cancel

• Your subscription will not auto-renew. No further charges are taken.
• You keep full access to your paid plan until the end of the current billing period (the date Lemon Squeezy refers to as your “period end”).
• After period end the workspace returns to the trial / free state. Generation pauses if you have already used the trial allowance.
• Schedule configurations, templates, and usage history are retained according to our Privacy Policy in case you re-subscribe.
• You may resume the subscription at any time before period end without penalty.

5. EU 14-day right of withdrawal

If you are a consumer in the European Union, you generally have the right to withdraw from a distance contract for a paid subscription within 14 days of its conclusion, without giving any reason (Directive 2011/83/EU; in the Czech Republic, § 1829 of Act No. 89/2012 Coll., the Civil Code).

Important exception for digital content / online services. The right of withdrawal is lost when the supply of digital content not on a tangible medium has begun, where you have given prior express consent to performance starting before the end of the 14-day period and have acknowledged that you thereby lose your right of withdrawal (Article 16(m) of Directive 2011/83/EU and § 1837(l) of the Czech Civil Code). When you confirm the start of your paid subscription at the Lemon Squeezy checkout, you give that prior express consent and acknowledgement, because access to AI generation is provided immediately.

How to withdraw if the exception above does not apply — for example if you have not used the paid features at all in the first 14 days. Send a clear statement to report@midnightvision.app within 14 days of the subscription start, including the email used for billing and your subscription identifier. We will accept the withdrawal, cancel the subscription, and refund the corresponding amount within 14 days through the same payment method you used.

6. When we issue refunds

We issue refunds in the following cases:

• Accidental duplicate charge for the same subscription in the same billing period.
• Service-side technical failure that materially prevented you from using the paid features for a substantial portion of a billing period and that we could not resolve within a reasonable time.
• Valid EU withdrawal as described in section 5.
• Mandatory consumer-protection cases under the law of the consumer’s country of habitual residence, where applicable.

Outside these cases we do not refund partial-month time when you cancel mid-cycle, because access continues until period end. Refunds are issued by Lemon Squeezy through the original payment method and typically appear within 5 to 10 business days, depending on your card issuer or bank.

7. Payment disputes and chargebacks

If you believe a charge is incorrect, please contact us first at report@midnightvision.app so we can resolve it quickly. You may also contact Lemon Squeezy support directly via their customer portal. As a last resort, you retain the right to contest a charge with your card issuer or bank (chargeback). Initiating a chargeback without first contacting us may result in suspension of the Service while the dispute is reviewed.
